Molise between nature and history

The trek “Molise between nature and history” turns back in the ancient paths of transhumance: Regi Tratturi Pescasseroli-Candela, Castel di Sangro-Lucera and Tratturello di San Domenico. Through the lush nature of Riserva Naturale Orientata in Pesche and in Collemeluccio (Riserva della Biosfera UNESCO), we meet a lot of historical and cultural examples, like the site of Paleolitico of Isernia, the castle in Pescolanciano, Samnites defensive system and the large archeological area of Pietrabbondante.

Walking from Isernia to Pietrabbondante to experience the excellent mix between nature and history that this part of Molise offers.

Typical products and traditional dishes, often handmade and old-fashioned, cheer up the evenings of walkers. You can taste cheeses such as caciocavallo, pecorino, burrata, manteca and others; cured meats like soppressata, ventricina, capicollo, rolled up ventresca, etc.; white and black truffles.
